Why use Gtechniq GWash?
GWash has been specifically formulated to work in harmony with the Gtechniq range of coatings.
One hundred percent biodegradable, GWash produces a high foam content which breaks the bond between the dirt film and your vehicles paintwork. The shampoo lubricates dirt particles, minimising surface abrasion, maximising gloss retention.

Frequently Asked Questions
How to wash a car properly?
Start by rinsing off loose dirt, then use a two-bucket method—one for soapy water and one for rinsing your mitt. Add GWash to the wash bucket as directed, apply using a microfibre mitt, then rinse and dry with a clean drying towel. GWash provides excellent lubricity, helping lift dirt safely and reduce swirl marks.
Can you use washing-up liquid to wash a car?
No—products like Fairy Liquid contain degreasers that strip waxes and sealants, potentially harming your paint. GWash is pH-neutral and designed to clean effectively without damaging sealants or waxes.
How often should you wash your car?
Ideally, wash your car every 1–2 weeks to prevent the build-up of road film, bird droppings, and other contaminants. Using GWash regularly helps maintain a spotless finish while preserving coatings like ceramic or wax.
What can I use to wash my car at home?
For best results, use a dedicated car shampoo like GWash, along with a soft wash mitt, two buckets, and a microfibre drying towel. GWash foams well, cuts through dirt, and is safe for all exterior finishes.
How do you clean a car effectively?
Begin with a pre-rinse or snow foam to loosen grime, then wash using GWash and the two-bucket method. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft towel. Follow up with a quick detailer or ceramic spray for extra gloss if desired.
Do it yourself car wash vs professional wash—what’s better?
A DIY wash using high-quality products like GWash allows you to clean your car thoroughly and safely, especially when following best practices. Many drive-through washes can cause micro-scratches, so a careful hand wash at home is often the better choice for maintaining your vehicle’s finish.
Can I wash car mats or interior surfaces with GWash?
GWash is formulated for exterior use. For interior surfaces like mats or seats, use specific interior such as Citrus All Purpose Cleaner. Avoid putting car mats in the washing machine unless they’re machine-washable according to manufacturer instructions.
Is GWash safe for waxed or ceramic-coated cars?
Yes—GWash is pH-neutral and gentle on all types of protection. It won’t strip waxes or sealants, making it perfect for coated vehicles that need regular maintenance cleaning.
